About
Triennale Milano, a School
The name Triennale Milano is often associated with three references: the Palazzo dell’Arte of Milan built in 1933, a cultural Foundation promoted a century ago by public institutions and open to private contributions, and a “triennial” International Exposition that has marked the history of Italian culture in Italy and around the world since 1928, the year we entered the BIE – Bureau International des Expositions. Recently, we have been trying to add a fourth reference that incorporates the other three and even enhances them.
The simple yet ambitious goal is to become – or we should say, return to being – Triennale Milano, a School, a place where proximity to beautiful objects and spaces, enriched by the circulation of insightful ideas, exciting concepts and powerful images, serves to transmit skills, knowledge and awareness.
The Development of the Strategic Plan
In keeping with the fully inclusive and collaborative approach we endorse, which is well represented throughout the strategic plan, the drafting of this text also begins with an impulse from governance and goes on to develop through the active participation of the staff and diverse stakeholders.
In this effort, we enlisted the services of external consultants specialized in guiding multifaceted institutions through the process of drafting strategic documents collaboratively. They worked in close contact with the administration, management, scientific committee and an interdepartmental team created ad hoc for the project.
